International Flights Operations In Nigeria Resumes On August 29 – FG

International flights operations in Nigeria will resume on 29 August 2020.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, made the announcement on Monday in Abuja at the briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

According to him, international flights will begin with Lagos and Abuja.





He explained that the process for the resumption of international flights in the country would be similar to that of the domestic flight resumption.

According to the minister, the resumption will commence on Saturday next week. It will start at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos and the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

 

In a message contained in a tweet by the minister. In the tweet, he said,” Glad to announce the resumption of international flights from the 29th of August, 2020.

“Beginning with Lagos and Abuja as we did with the domestic flight resumption. Protocols and procedures will be announced in due course. We thank you for your patience.





The Federal Government had suspended international flight operations into the country on March 21. It was one of the measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease.

International flights were suspended, with the exception of occasional humanitarian or repatriation charter flights.
