Mercedes-Benz S-Class Voted Luxury Car Of The Year At NAJA Awards
New-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class flagship sedan voted 2021 Luxury Car Of The Year at NAJA awards.
The latest Mercedes S-Class flagship sedan was unveiled last September as the pinnacle of the new luxury saloon range.
The last vehicle to win the Luxury Car Of The Year award was the Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography.
The SUV was 2019 recepient, as the Auto Journalists event was canceled in 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The new-generation 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been voted the Luxury Car Of The Year 2021 at this year’s Nigeria Auto Journalists Association Awards held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.
Weststar’s Associates Mercedes-Benz S-Class flagship sedan and Coscharis Motors’ range topping BMW 7-Series sedan slugged it out for this year’s Luxury Car Of The Year award.
The latest Mercedes-Benz S-Class, unveiled last September as the pinnacle of the new luxury saloon range, packs several new ultra-luxury features, including a massive 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
In addition to the massive central infotainment display, which replaces 27 buttons found in the older model, the S-Class also comes with new 3D-effect 12.3-inch driver display.
The luxury cabin also comes with a Burmester high-end 4D sound system with 30 loudspeakers and ambient lighting. The lighting extends from the door panels and the dash to the floorboards.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class
Mercedes flagship hands-free luxury cruiser comes with Level 3 self-driving features which can be activated with a push of a button on the steering wheel. It works at speeds of up to 37mph (60 km/h).
The S500 4MATIC version comes with a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engines, producing 429 horsepower, while the S580 has twin-turbo V8 petrol engine with 469 hp.
These engines, with electronically limited top speed of 130 miles per hour, comes with the EQ Boost 48-volt mild-hybrid system. They are paired with 9-speed automatic gearbox and come with five driving modes – Eco Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual.
Safety features on the S-Class includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-keep assist and lane-change assist.
Other safety features includes active steering assist, traffic sign recognition, front and rear cross-traffic alert, and active blind-spot monitoring.
