Court fines Ghanaian Pastor Obinim N79,000 for illegally using strobe lights, siren on his Toyota Land Cruiser.
Further, the court ordered him and his driver to remove all unapproved strobe lights and sirens on the vehicle.
Under the supervision of the Police, the strobe lights and sirens were removed and retained by the force.

A Magistrate Court in Court has imposed a fine of GH₵ 1,200 (N78,568.58) on popular Ghanaian pastor, Bishop Daniel Obinim and his driver, Eric Kofi Agyeman, for the illegal use of strobe lights and sirens.
Obinim, the head pastor of the International God’s Way Church, and his driver were charged after the attention of the Police was drawn to a viral video, which shows a Toyota Land Cruiser SUV fitted with strobe lights and siren.
According a statement published on the Ghana Police Service Facebook page, the use was contrary to road traffic regulations 74 (1) of Road Traffic Regulation 2012 LI 2180.

Part of the police statement read :
“Police investigation upon a review of the video footage led to the arrest of the driver Eric Kofi Agyeman and the owner of the vehicle, Bishop Daniel Obinim.
“The driver and the owner of the vehicle were put before the Akropong Magistrate Court today and were fined to pay an amount of One Thousand Two Hundred Ghana Cedis (GH₵ 1,200.00).
“Further, the court ordered them to remove all unapproved strobe lights and sirens on the vehicle. Under the supervision of the Police, the strobe lights and sirens were removed and same retained by the Police.”
The Ghana Police Service appealed to car owners to stop fixing strobe lights and sirens which they are not entitled to on their vehicles. It vowed to prosecute car owners who flout the law.
