Jeep Upgrades Wrangler For 2024 With A Refreshed Face And A Nicer Interior

The New York International Auto Show has already kicked off and one of the star attractions is the upgraded Jeep Wrangler which comes with a refreshed face and a nicer interior.
A quick glance at the refreshed front end shows exactly what you would expect: the same broad-nosed Wrangler face we’ve all grown so accustomed to over the previous decades. Under more scrutinizing eyes, you can see each slot of the grille is now more distinct, and the mesh behind the slots has been opened up. The normally flat bodywork beneath each headlight has been replaced and instead incorporated into the mesh backing. The 2024 Rubicon models may look even more distinct, as buyers now also have the option to add a factory-backed Warn winch with an 8000-pound capacity.
Inside, Jeep scrapped the entire top half of the Wrangler’s old dash to make room for a 12.3-inch widescreen infotainment setup running the latest version of Uconnect 5 with standard wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also bakes in Jeep’s new Trails Offroad app that offers maps of the 62 trails included in Jeep’s “Badge of Honor” series. This can be upgraded via subscription to unlock more than 3,000 trails currently mapped.
Further upgrades include new standard side-curtain airbags and a new “stealth” antenna integrated into the windshield; buh-bye, whip! Twelve-way power-adjustable seats are also now available, as is a built-in accessory mounting system on the Wrangler’s dashboard.
As usual, the 4xe and Rubicon 392 are only available with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the 2.0- and 3.6-liter gas engines can also be had with a six-speed manual.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged 4xe hybrid still produces 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, while the unelectrified 2.0-liter turbo-four generates 270 hp and 295 lb-ft. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 produces 285 hp and 260 lb-ft, and the range-topping 6.4-liter V8 in the Rubicon 392 delivers 470 hp and 470 lb-ft.
