Rode in a converted Mercedes G-Class to inspect the Guard Of Honour at his inauguration ceremony on May 29th 2023. 

Senator Bassey Edet Otu was sworn-in as the Executive Governor of Cross River State on 29 May 2023, replacing Benedict Bengiuoshuye Ayade, who served as the governor of Cross River State from 29 May 2015 till 29 May 2023.

To inspect the Guard Of Honour at his inauguration ceremony on May 29th 2023, Otu rode in a converted Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV parade.

Before being elected as the Governor of Cross River State, Otu has previously represented the Calabar Municipal/Odukpani constituency of Cross River State, Nigeria in the Federal House of Representatives from 2003 – 2011.

As the number one citizen of Cross River Road, Senator Bassey Edet Otu is entitled to an official car. As expected, Edet’s choice of car is the armored Lexus LX 600 full-size SUV as it combines luxury and ruggedness in its DNA.

On the outside, the LX 600 is surrounded by armoring compartments to provide protection for the Governor during attacks while the interior boasts premium features to offer a memorable ride.

Powering this luxury mobile bunker is a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V-6 engine that makes 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, which allows the unarmored variant of the LX 600 to reach 60 mph in 6.1-second.
