Bugatti Vows To Make Petrol-powered Cars Beyond 2035, Offers To Build Fuel Stations At Its Clients Homes
French hypercar manufacturer Bugatti vows to continue to make petrol-powered cars beyond 2035 deadline.
CEO Mate Rimac believes that its wealthy clients can pay the extra charges low-volume brands like Bugatti might incur.
He added that the company “could even make some beautiful Bugatti fuel stations for the homes of owners, using synthetic fuels.”
The all-new Bugatti Chiron successor will arrived next month with a new V16 hybrid powertrain.

Mate Rimac, the CEO of the Bugatti Rimac, has hinted of making petrol-powered Bugatti hypercars beyond 2035 and even suggested building synthetic fuel stations at the homes of its super-rich customers.
When quizzed, Rimac declared that petrol engines are here to stay for Bugatti, stating that the brand has developed a new engine that will power its next-gen cars, starting with the upcoming Bugatti Chiron replacement.
“I don’t see any reason not to make them beyond 2035, we have developed a completely new engine and we want to use that engine for a while,” he told AutoExpress at the recent FT Future of the Car Summit in London.
“I read the regulations and I don’t see a reason why it would be impossible – the headlines say combustion engined cars will be banned from 2035, but you read the fine print and it doesn’t say that anywhere – you can still build them, but there might be some penalties.”
Rimac believes its wealthy clients can pay the extra charges low-volume brands like Bugatti might incur, adding that the company “could even make some beautiful Bugatti fuel stations for the homes of owners, using synthetic fuels.”
The all-new Bugatti Chiron successor will arrived next month with a new V16 hybrid powertrain. The new hybrid powertrain will replace the flagship quad-turbo W16 engine, which has powered cars like Veyron 16.4 to the outgoing Chiron.
