Tesla Is Offering To Replace One Of The Electric Motors In The Cybertruck For free

Tesla will replace one of the electric motors in the Cybertruck less than a year after the new model hits the roads in the US. Ilona Maska’s company claims that the new engine is more efficient and reliable.
Tesla in the USA is contacting the owners of already delivered Cybertrucks to refer them to a service centre where they will replace the electric motor for free, according to Index.hr.
The company stressed that the replacement of the engine was not motivated by safety reasons, they say that the only motive is to increase efficiency. They did not announce whether it was a front- or rear-electric motor replacement.
Tesla emphasizes that driving the Cybertruck is not dangerous in any way, but the installation of the new engine enables progress in terms of efficiency and reliability.
It is an unusual decision. Software updates have become commonplace, but swapping an engine on a vehicle that’s already on the road is strange. It is not clear how many Cybertrucks will get the new electric motor.
Motor1 writes that there are rumors that Tesla has found problems and wants to solve them before the news goes public. But the official version claims that Tesla is simply working on constant improvements to its vehicles and internally studying all components to find even more advanced solutions.
