Ram Is Speculating That Buyers Of Trucks Will Pay Six Figures For A Sporty V8 Pickup
The Ram 1500 Rumble Bee targets an untapped market with strong sales potential despite its premium pricing.
At a time when sporty, low-slung pickup trucks have become a rarity in the market, dealer council chairman Sean Hogan noted in an interview with Autonews that the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee is poised to attract a new demographic of buyers who would typically not consider purchasing a pickup. Josh Towbin, owner of the Towbin Dodge-Ram dealership near Las Vegas, corroborated this sentiment, noting significant consumer enthusiasm for the new model and a general acceptance of its premium pricing.
Ram’s 1500 Rumble Bee pricing: base 5.7L V8 starts at $62,790, followed by the 6.4L 392 at $72,790, the 392 Track Pack at $82,790, and the 777-hp Hellcat-powered SRT at $97,790.
Analysts Sam Fiorani and Ivan Drury agree that the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee’s premium pricing won’t deter its target market. With luxury trucks now regularly exceeding $90,000, they believe buyers will prioritize the Rumble Bee’s performance and status over cost.
Ram demonstrates significant confidence in the Rumble Bee; even prior to the commencement of customer deliveries, the company has announced a series of Direct Connection upgrades. Supercharger kits are available for the 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter models—priced at $10,995—which elevate output to over 600 hp and 700 hp, respectively. Furthermore, the flagship Rumble Bee SRT receives enhancements boosting its performance to over 900 hp, complemented by the introduction of new Direct Connection suspension and exhaust systems designed specifically for these performance-oriented trucks.
