Lexus Upgrades The LX For The 2027 Model Year In Japan
The Lexus LX, the luxury equivalent of the full-size Land Cruiser, has been on the market since 2021. Recent updates in Japan focus on driving dynamics, new features, and aesthetic refinements rather than a full redesign.
The updated Lexus LX arrived in Japanese showrooms on October 1, 2026. According to Lexus, these enhancements are designed to refine the “Lexus Driving Signature” through comprehensive improvements across the entire model lineup.
For the Japanese market, Lexus has recalibrated the electric power steering on all LX variants to provide more precise driver feedback. Additionally, Lexus has adjusted the suspension to improve handling and deliver a smoother ride regardless of the powertrain. Notably, the update also introduces the F Sport trim to the Japanese market.
The remaining models in the LX lineup have also received significant enhancements. The Overtrail+ variant now features larger 265/70R18 tires—an upgrade from the previous 265/65R18 specification—along with increased ground clearance and a new tire construction engineered to reduce road noise while maintaining superior off-road performance.
Concurrently, the standard LX600 has been updated with new 20-inch aluminum wheels, and the entire model range is now available with a new exterior paint option: White Nova Glass Flake.
