All-new Concept Mercedes-Maybach EQS Previews Upcoming Ultra-luxury Electric SUV
Mercedes unveils Concept Mercedes-Maybach EQS, an ultra-luxury EV that preview an upcoming electric crossover that is expected to arrive in 2023.
Mercedes says that the Mercedes-Maybach EQS Concept SUV previews an ultra-luxury 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV.
The upcoming 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV will go into production in 2022. A Maybach variant will follow by 2023.
Daimler’s Mercedes ultra-luxury brand today unveiled the Concept Mercedes-Maybach EQS ultra-luxury electric SUV at the 2021 IAA Mobility show in Munich, Germany.
The electric SUV from Maybach preview an upcoming electric crossover that is expected to arrive in 2023, and according to the luxury-focused marque, the concept at the stand is a near production vehicle.
Philipp Schiemer, Head of Top End Vehicle Group at Mercedes-Benz AG, said :
“The near-production concept car represents proof that state-of-the-art electric drive technology and pioneering infotainment with the MBUX Hyperscreen combine perfectly with hallmark Maybach craftsmanship and an exquisite interior,”
On the outside, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS concept is finished in two-tone paint (Obsidian Black Metallic on top and Zircon Red Metallic on the lower portion) and rides on huge 24-inch wheels.
The front fascia has a massive fully enclosed grille that is flanked by slender LED headlights with “individual diamond blocks framed with a fine-knit mesh of the Maybach emblem” while the D-pillars are adorned with Chrome Mercedes-Maybach logos.
It comes with flush-mounted door handles that automatically opens as the driver’s approaches. Option to open the rear doors remotely will also be available as well.
Inside is packed with features you will expect from a Maybach, including two opulent two seats and a rear center console finished in white piano lacquer and rose gold-colored accents.
The front part of the car has a massive 56-inch Mercedes Hyperscreen that extend nearly the whole width of the body. The three-in-one screen houses a 17.7-inch touchscreen for infotainment, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and a 12.3-inch OLED monitor for the passenger.
Just like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class Concept EQG, the company is also quiet on the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV concept’s drive range and battery size, but it is projecting a range of 373 miles (600 kilometers).
The German Autogiant says that the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV concept previews a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV that will go into production in 2022, adding that the Maybach variant will come later.
