Upcoming comedian Aproko crowned Next Naija Comedy Star Winner, wins N5 million and a brand new car.
The show, which was organized by the AY, had Ali Baba, I go dye and MC Shakara as judges.
Bayelsa-born award winning comedian Gift Igbomgbo, known professionally as Aproko, has been crowned Next Naija Comedy Star winner.
Aproko was declared winner at the grand finale of the show, defeating three other runner-up contestants during the three-week-long competition.
As the winner of the Next Naija Comedy Star competition, Aproko won the grand prize of 5 million naira (N5m) and a brand new car.
The show, which was organized by the AY, had Ali Baba, I go dye and MC Shakara as judges.
The judges used dynamic and spontaneous intelligence as a yardstick to unanimously choose the winner.
Present at the grand finale to entertain guest was popular singer, songwriter and “billionaire” crooner, Teniola Apata, better known as Teni.
Ayodeji Makun, known by his stage name A.Y, is a Nigerian actor, comedian, radio and TV presenter, writer and producer. Born on 19 August 1971, he hails from Ifon, Ose local government in Ondo State.
He is the host of the A.Y live shows and A.Y comedy skits. His first movie, 30 Days in Atlanta, was produced by him and directed by Robert O. Peters.
Ayo Makun came into spotlight after being Alibaba Akporobome’s personal assistant and event manager. A.Y also wrote going “A.Y wire” as a guest columnist in The Sun (Nigeria) and Gbenga Adeyinka’s “Laugh Mattaz”.
