Audi’s China-exclusive AUDI E5 and E7X EVs Are Secretly Arriving In Europe
Audi’s China-exclusive AUDI E5 and E7X EVs are secretly arriving in Europe through third-party grey market.
Built exclusively for the Chinese market, the two models features illuminated “AUDI” logo instead of the classic “Four Rings”.

Audi’s E5 Sportback and E7X SUV from its China-exclusive sister brand AUDI are unofficially hitting European roads through third-party grey market importers, specifically Auto China, which reportedly imports, homologates, and registers Chinese-only cars in Europe.
Built exclusively for the Chinese market through a joint venture with SAIC Motor, the two models—featuring an illuminated “AUDI” logo instead of the classic “Four Rings”—are known for merging Audi’s superior driving performance and premium quality with an AI-powered connectivity experience.

While the E5 Sportback and E7X are priced from 205,990 yuan ($30,600) and 269,800 yuan ($40,100) respectively in China, both tech-filled models start at roughly €72,900 ($85,200) and €86,800 ($100,700) respectively once shipped and registered in Europe, according to Automobilwoche.
“The models of the sister brand AUDI are based on their own platform (Advanced Digitized Platform) developed together with our partner SAIC and are deeply integrated into China’s digital ecosystem,” an Audi spokesperson told Automobilwoche.

While these sales are unofficial and could lead to legal issues, Volkswagen Group had earlier considered bringing electric vehicles produced in China for China to Europe if it finds suitable buyers as part of efforts to accelerate its transformation plan and boost its competitiveness.
According to Autocar, Oliver Blume, CEO of Volkswagen Group, hinted that China-exclusive models, including the ID. Unyx and AUDI E7X, could eventually be exported to international markets such as South America, Asia, the Middle East, and India.
