BMW Group’s Expanding Electric Family
German autogiant, the BMW Group, more than doubled its Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) sales in 2022 compared to 2021.
Fully-electric MINI Cooper SE and the fully-electric BMW CE 04 motorcycle were strong factors in the successful result for 2022.
Reach a major milestone last year when the it handed over its 500,000th fully-electric vehicle to its new owner.
It is expected to see a boost in BEV sales this year with the market introduction of BMW i7 and Rolls-Royce Spectre.
With a total of 215,755 fully-electric BMW and MINI vehicles delivered to customers, the BMW Group was able to more than double its Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) sales in 2022 (+107.7%) compared to 2021.
The BMW Group’s growing electric fleet allowed it to reach a major milestone towards the end of last year when it handed over its 500,000th fully-electric vehicle to its new owner.
“Our strong product line-up is the best response to a challenging environment – and enabled us to more than double our sales of fully-electric vehicles again in 2022,” said Pieter Nota, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Customer, Brands, Sales.
“We are confident we can build on this success in 2023, as we continue to see particularly high order intake for our fully-electric models,” Nota added.
The fully-electric MINI Cooper SE, which remained the brand’s best-selling model variant last year, and the fully-electric BMW CE 04 motorcycle were strong factors in the successful result for 2022.
The BMW Group is expected to see a boost in the sales of its BEV this year with the market introduction of the BMW i7, the electric variant of the 7 Series, as well as the upcoming Rolls-Royce Spectre, which is expected to reach dealerships worldwide in the fourth quarter of 2023.
