BMW M3 Says Goodbye To The Manual Transmission In A Final Edition Model
The BMW M3 will be available in a final edition with a 6-speed manual gearbox. 150 units will be manufactured, and if demand is too high, it will go through a draw, as is usual in Japan.
The current sixth generation of the BMW M3, which bears the internal code G80, was launched in 2021. The high-performance sedan from the propeller brand is preparing to abandon the mechanical gearbox.
A final edition equipped with the famous 6-speed mechanical gearbox is offered in Japan. It is called BMW M3 MT (an acronym for Manual Transmission) Final Edition.
Only 150 examples will be offered (in detail, there will be three different colours produced at 50 units each), and as is customary in the Nippon archipelago, if demand exceeds supply, the vehicles will be allocated through a lottery. Candidates can apply from March 13 at 11 a.m. until March 27 at 11:59 p.m. The manufacturer specifies, by putting the shapes, that if the desired body colour is sold out, it will then be necessary to fall back on another shade.
The BMW M3 MT Final Edition rests on golden rims reminiscent of those of the very first generation of BMW M3. On board, the bright red accents on the seats refer to the BMW M3 prepared by the AC Schnitzer team, which won the German DTM championship in 1989. Three body colors are available: Alpine White, M Brooklyn Gray, and Saphir Noir.
BMW indicates a local price of 14.2 million yen, which corresponds to approximately €88,000. This is the basic version with a 480-hp engine producing 550 Nm. Deliveries of the BMW M3 MT Final Edition will take place in June. The BMW M3 Competition starts at €109,950; its power is 510 hp for 650 Nm.
