Fuel Price Hike : Sanwo-Olu Reduces Fares Of BRT, Boat & LAGRIDE By 50%
In a bid to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal on Lagosians, the Lagos State Government has slashed the costs of transportation of all state-owned transport systems by 50 per cent.
“From Wednesday (August 3rd), we’re implementing a 50% fare reduction on all Lagos Buses, easing the burden on commuters across the city.”, Sanwo-Olu said during a press briefing on Monday.
“Additionally, I’m pleased to announce a 50% fare reduction on all LagFerry routes. This will provide more accessible and affordable transportation options for our residents.”
Customs Intercept Bulletproof Jackets Inside Toyota Sienna In Ogun
The Federal Operations Unit, Zone A Ikeja, of the Nigeria Customs Service, said it intercepted a Toyota Sienna Minivan loaded with 15 bulletproof jackets, 15 pieces of jack knives, and 20 pieces of pistol pouches at Ijebu-Ode checkpoint in Ogun State.
In a statement by the command on Wednesday, the acting Customs Area Controller in charge of the unit, Hussein Ejibunu, said the driver of the vehicle was arrested with the seized controlled wares.
The Customs Area Controller noted that the importation of any form of bulletproof items into the country required an end-user certificate.
FAAN Suspends Car Hire Services At Abuja Airport
The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced the suspension of airport car hire services at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) Abuja with immediate effect.
According to a statement by FAAN Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Abdullahi Yakubu-Fun Tua, the suspension follows the unresolved factional dispute amongst the car hire operators which has been affecting airport car hire service operations.
FAAN advises the general public and all airport users, particularly our esteemed passengers to use secured alternative means of transportation or E-hailing services in and out of the airport.
Moment A Private Training Aircraft Crashed On Oba Akran In Lagos (Video)
Two crew members were reportedly rescued alive with varying degree of injuries on Tuesday August 1st after a private training aircraft owned by Airfirst Hospitality and Tour Ltd crash landed at Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja Lagos.
According to a release by the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS), Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, the accident occurred while the chopper was on a training exercise with two male crew members on board.
