Covid-19: Hundreds Of Taxis Turned To Vegetable Farm In Thailand (Pics)

Taxi firms in Bangkok that are currently out of service creates vegetable gardens on the roofs of parked vehicles.

Countries around the world are still reeling from the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, which grounded nearly all activities last year as nations move to curtail the deadly disease.
The impact of covid-19 pandemic on the transportation industry will be felt for many years — including Thailand, where thousands of taxi drivers still can’t get back to work.
In the heat of the pandemic in 2020, many taxi drivers in Thailand left the city for their home villages, leaving thousands of taxis parked at garages now dubbed the ‘taxi graveyards‘.
Till now, most taxi firms in Thailand cities remain out service due to the downturn in business. This has led to some taxi firms in Bangkok that are currently out of service to come up with an innovative idea by creating vegetable gardens on the roofs of parked vehicles.
Pictures at the garage of one taxi firm on September 15, 2021, shows several types of vegetables, including chilli, holy basil, eggplant and spring onions, atop hundreds of parked taxis.
According to reports, members of the taxi rental garage hope they can use these produce to help feed out-of-work drivers, employees and their families.
