Drunk Lagos Driver Forgets Where He Parked His Boss’s Car, Lied He Was Robbed At Gunpoint
Lagos driver forgets where he parked his boss’s 2014 Nissan Altima sedan after getting drunk.
RRS recovered the vehicle, two days after it was abandoned by a drunk driver at Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.
At the time of recovery, the vehicle had all the side glasses wound down and a bottle of dry gin was beside the driver’s seat.
It’s never a good thing to drive under the influence (DUI) as it is a serious crime in most countries around the world.
Officials of Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on Monday, August 1, 2022 recovered a 2014 Nissan Altima, two days after it was abandoned by a drunk driver at Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.
Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the driver, Samuel Lawal, after dropping his boss at his residence in Magodo Phase 1, used it to party around on Saturday night, July 30, getting drunk in the process.
After waking up the next day on Sunday morning, he could not remember where he had parked the vehicle despite having the car key in his pocket.

According to his statement to the Police :
“I tried looking for the car. I re-traced my steps back to African Shrine trying to ascertain if I had forgot the car there.
All means to recover the vehicle proved futile. I had no alternative than to lie to my boss that I was robbed and that the vehicle had been driven away,”
The owner of the vehicle, who informed the RRS after the driver became unreachable on Sunday, revealed that Lawal had been a hard-working driver since he was recruited about four months ago.
After the driver was picked up for questioning, the vehicle was traced and recovered at Allen Avenue. At the time of recovery, the vehicle had all the side glasses wound down and a bottle of dry gin was beside the driver’s seat.
The driver and vehicle have since been released by the police. It’s never a good thing to drive under the influence (DUI). as it will not only endanger your live or that of the passengers, but also the lives of other road users.
