European Car Production Is Falling Apart
Car production in Western Europe will decrease by 41 percent during the period from 2015 to 2030. This is shown by new data from the research institute S&P Global Mobility, which mapped the future of car factories.
The total number of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles produced in the region will decrease to only 9.55 million vehicles by 2030.
The golden days of annual production of more than 10 million vehicles will probably never return, and analysts expect that the car brands will not exceed the production of 9.8 million cars this year. While the Germans produced almost six million cars in 2015, that number will drop to 3.4 million cars by 2030. Maybe even less.
The automotive giant Volkswagen is the most affected by the new trends. The group expects to reduce national car production from 1.6 million to just 600,000 units. But the same trends are expected in other car manufacturers and in countries like Great Britain, Italy, France…
