Piero, the only surviving son of Enzo Ferrari has taken delivery of his exquisite custom Ferrari Purosangue SUV inspired by his father’s very own 400 Superamerica Grand Tourer.
The 78 year old Italian businessman is the vice chairman and 10% owner of luxury race car company Ferrari founded by his father. As at June 30th 2023, Piero is $6.8 billion, according to Forbes.
With the help of Ferrari’s Tailor Made designers, Piero was able to spec his Purosangue in Verde Dora green shade, which matches the color worn by Enzo’s personal car.
Inside, the cabin is upholstered in rich Jade Brown leather, an option also inspired by the original spec of Enzo’s 1962 Ferrari 400 Superamerica.
While Enzo’s 400 Superamerica produced 335 hp from a 4.0-liter V12, the while Piero’s Purosangue makes 715 hp from a 6.5-liter V12, though both vehicles are separated by over 60-years in technology.
The all-new Ferrari Purosangue starts at $435,000, making the four-door, four-seater Crossover about $195,000 more expensive than the Volkswagen Group rival, the Lamborghini Urus SUV.
The Italian brand prioritises existing customers when taking orders for new models. Waiting lists for new Ferrari sports cars normally run between 18 months and 24 months.
