First-ever TZ Is Lexus’ First 3-row, All-electric SUV, Offers 300 Miles Range, V-10 Engine Sound

Toyota’s luxury brand has expanded its electrified lineup for 2027 with the launch of the first-ever, all-new Lexus TZ – its first three-row, all-electric, AWD SUV, which “combines smooth BEV ride quality with engaging driving dynamics”.
Designed from the Driving Lounge Concept, the all-terrain, body-on-frame TZ measures 5,100 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, and 1,705 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm. By comparison, the Lexus RX SUV is 4,890 mm long with a 2,850 mm wheelbase.

One of the key features of the TZ is an Active Sound Control (ASC) designed to mimic the V-10 engine sound of the Lexus LFA supercar, along with simulated gear-shifting sounds.
“Active Sound Control (ASC) produces harmonically pleasing acceleration and deceleration sounds linked to pedal inputs, enhancing driver awareness through musical chord sequences that express power and dynamism,” according to Lexus.

TZ’s exterior features a flush door handles, front grille illuminated emblem, twin-L signature lamps and L-shaped daytime running lights and turn signals while the rear gets a signature L-shaped and a full-width LED taillights.
Inside, it features an expansive panoramic roof, Lexus’ latest-gen Interface multimedia system, a Mark Levinson audio system with 21 speakers, captain’s chairs in the second-row and a Lexus-first 2-in-1 charging port, which places AC and DC connectors side-by-side.

Other notable features inside include a central 14-inch multimedia display, which synchronises with the 12.3-in multi-information display, allowing full navigation map to be mirrored in the driver’s asymmetric 12.3-inch combimeter.
TZ is available in two lithium-ion battery options—76.96 kWh and 95.82 kWh, with the larger battery-pack offering up to 300 miles (483 km) of range before needing a recharge. Its 400-volt tech, with a charging capacity of just 150kW, deliver 10 to 80 percent charging times of around 35 minutes.

Powering the TZ is a pair of electric motors that delivers a total of 402 horsepower and 369 pound-feet (500 Nm) of torque. Lexus claims that the TZ can reach 62 mph (100 kph) from rest in 5.4 seconds.
Lexus has promised to release grades (trims) and pricing information for the all-new Lexus TZ electric SUV before it goes on sale at the end of 2026. TZ will be launched into the European market in 2027.
