Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Manthey Kit shatters Xiaomi SU7 Ultra’s ‘Electric Executive Car’ lap record at Nürburgring.
A Taycan Turbo GT sports car equipped with the Manthey Kit and driven by the Porsche’s test driver Lars Kern has set a new lap record for an ‘electric executive car’ at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany.
The record-breaking Taycan Turbo GT with Manthey Kit was able to lap the famous 12.8-mile (20.8 km) Green Hell in a new record time of 6 minutes 55 seconds, smashing the production-spec Xiaomi SU7 Ultra’s time by nine seconds.
The Manthey Kitted-Taycan Turbo GT’s time is also twelve (12) seconds quicker than the previous fastest lap set by the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package in October 2023 – highlighting the impressive dynamic qualities of the new Manthey Kit.
Set to be available to order from June as a retrofit kit for all examples of Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package, the Manthey kit offers increased aerodynamic downforce, more powerful drivetrain and a modified suspension.
Key components of the Manthey performance kit include a new rear wing with enlarged end plates, a front diffuser, a high-performance rear diffuser with extended fins, and enlarged air deflectors on the underbody.
The resulting downforce is now three times more compared to the standard car. At 124mph, the downforce rises from 95kg to 310kg and up to 740kg when travelling at the top speed, which has increased from 305 km/h (190mph) to 310 km/h (193mph).
“The Manthey Kit turns the Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package into the ultimate track tool. On the Nordschleife, you can feel how much more stability and confidence the car offers in fast sections and when braking,” says Kern, who was also behind the wheel of Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package.
Visually, the Taycan Turbo GT with Manthey Kit differentiates itself with numerous add-on parts like upper and lower wheel arch vents, the front and rear wheel arch extensions, widened side skirts, rear wing and special Pirelli P ZERO Trofeo RS track tyres.
