Motorists and pedestrians were left in shock after a hearse transporting a body caught fire while traveling along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The vehicle was reportedly on its way to deliver a body for a funeral service when the fire incident happened.

A short footage of the incident circulating on the social media shows the large funeral vehicle engulfed in a massive blaze beside the motorway.

The rare incident created panic among motorists and onlookers. Fortunately, the casket containing the dead body was saved from the burning vehicle.

No one knows the cause of the fire and there were no reports of injuries or deaths during the fire incident.

This isn’t the first time a funeral Hearse conveying a dead body will be involved in accident.

Last year, a Volvo 740 Turbo wagon transporting a body got damaged while on its way to a funeral. The cause of the accident is not known to us, but it looks like the car fell into a ditch.
