Here Are Some Of The Parade Cars Used By State Governors, President During May 29th Inauguration Ceremony
The inauguration of newly elected Governors and the President last week was an avenue to see different parade cars from brands like Mercedes, Land Rover as well as Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing.
Autojosh brings you some of head-tuning parades cars used by newly sworn-in Nigerian State Governors and the President during their inauguration ceremonies held on Monday May 29th 2023.
Different parade cars from brands like Mercedes, Land Rover as well as Nnewi-based automaker, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) showed up for the inauguration ceremonies held across the country last week.
Below are some of the parade cars on display.
Nigeria
Mercedes-Benz G-Class truck
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu rode in a customized Mercedes-Benz G-Class parade car to inspect the guard of honour at the Eagles Square following his swearing-in as the 16th President of Nigeria last week.
Footage shared online shows President Tinubu, while aboard the Mercedes-Benz G-Class parade car, waving to the cheering crowd at the Eagle Square on Monday.
Lagos State
Mercedes-Benz G-Class truck
Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was reelected as the Governor of Lagos State, used a converted Mercedes-Benz G-Class as a parade car during his inauguration ceremony held at the historic Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Onikan, on May 29th.
Zamfara State
Land Rover Defender
The newly inaugurated Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, rode in a Land Rover Defender finished in Nigerian Green-White-Green color at his swearing-in ceremony last week Monday.
Abia State
Converted Innoson IVM G80
Dr Alex Otti, who was sworn in as the 5th democratically elected Governor of Abia State, rode in a IVM parade car 29th during the inauguration held at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
The parade car, specially ordered from Nnewi-based indigenous automaker, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), is based on the company’s IVM G80 SUV.
Gombe
Innoson G80 truck
Just like Abia, the Gombe State government also supported local manufacturers by requesting Innoson to manufacture a parade vehicle for his inauguration ceremony.
According to Cornel Osigwe, the Head of Corporate Communications at Innoson Vehicle, the IVM-branded vehicle was delivered on May 28th, a day before the inauguration ceremony.
Ogun State
Land Rover Defender
The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who was sworn in for a second term in office, used a Land Rover Defender truck at his inauguration ceremony held at at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.
Benue State
Toyota Hilux
Unlike the others who used converted SUVs as parade cars, the newly elected Governor of Benue State, Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, rode in a Toyota Hilux pickup truck during his swearing-in ceremony at IBB Square in Makurdi.
