Honda Dangled Three 2026 Passport TrailSports From A Crane To Show Its Incredible Ruggedness
Japanese brand Honda dangled three (3) 2026 Passport TrailSport SUVs from a crane to show its incredible ruggedness.
For the demo, a 140-foot long crane was used to hang the three models end-to-end from the top Passport’s front recovery points.
The front recovery points on the first (highest) Passport were holding over 14,000 pounds of Japanese Crossovers.
In addition, all 2026 Passport TrailSport models feature a trailer hitch with a 7-pin connector that integrates two stout rear recovery points.

Honda has demonstrated the incredible ruggedness of the all-new 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport by hanging three unmodified models end-to-end from the vehicle’s stout front recovery points using a 140-foot long crane.
Before the start of the “Chassis Strength Demo“, all fluids in three 2026 Passport TrailSports built at the Honda Alabama Auto Plant were drained and transmission locked in neutral.

For the demonstration, a 140-foot long crane was used to hang the three models end-to-end from the gray (top) Passport’s front recovery points – which was now holding over 14,000 pounds of Japanese Crossovers.

Per the Japanese brand, the new Passport TrailSport and TrailSport Elite are the first Honda light truck models equipped with exposed and easily accessible heavy-duty front recovery points.
“The two bright orange cast iron front recovery points were intentionally designed as a closed loop recovery system for additional safety and are each capable of supporting twice the Passport’s weight.

“Moreover, the recovery points are powder coated to resist corrosion and engineered to break away in the event of a front collision. This patented design is a world’s first and enables the Passport to target top-of-class safety ratings.
In addition to the heavy-duty recovery points, the all 2026 Passport TrailSport models also feature a trailer hitch with a 7-pin connector that integrates two stout rear recovery points and helps protect the rear fascia from off-road damage.
