Porsche, the German luxury carmaker, experienced a decline in car sales during the first half of the year, particularly in China and its home market of Germany. From January to June, the company delivered approximately 146,400 sports and off-road vehicles globally, which is a six percent decrease compared to the same period last year.

The downward trend continued in the first half of this year, after a three percent drop last year, and around 310,700 vehicles were delivered. Deliveries to China fell by 28 percent in the first six months of this year to 21,300 cars, primarily due to the challenging market situation and fierce competition.

In Germany’s home market, a noteworthy decline of 23 percent was observed, resulting in nearly 16,000 vehicles delivered. In the first half of the year, Porsche sold fewer vehicles.

Sales in Europe were also down, by six percent, with approximately 35,380 vehicles delivered. An even greater decline was recorded in the domestic market of Germany: eight percent.

The bright spot was deliveries to the North American market, which jumped ten percent, with 43,580 vehicles delivered, largely thanks to improved availability and a price guarantee following increased US tariffs.

The company saw the same jump in the category of overseas and developing markets, such as African and Latin American countries, Australia, Japan, and South Korea, with just over 30,000 vehicles delivered.
