Stellantis-owned American automaker, Jeep, has announced the sale of the five millionth unit of its legendary off-road focused Jeep Wrangler, which was bought by a customer in Camden, New Jersey.
In addition to the milestone 4×4, the owner will receive $5,000 worth of Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) by Mopar and lifetime Jeep Wave customer care benefits, which includes the scheduled maintenance, access to exclusive Jeep events and dedicated customer care.
“The Jeep Wrangler is the natural heir of the legendary Willys, the vehicle that has inspired the Brand spirit and soul; since its arrival in 1987 it has been a mainstay of the SUV world and we’re very proud to celebrate the five millionth Jeep Wrangler” said Eric Laforge, Head of Jeep Brand in Europe.
The first Jeep Wrangler (model code YJ) introduced in 1986 and sold until 1995 replaced the Jeep CJ and continued the legacy established by the original 1941 Willys MB. YJ was followed by the TJ in 1996, the JK in 2006 and the 4th-Gen JL in 2017 – with each combining unmatched off-road capabilities.
Jeep describes the electrified Wrangler 4xe as “the most capable ever with best-in-class performance”, thanks to the combination of a powerful front 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and a rear electric propulsion, that delivers the torque on demand.
In addition, the Wrangler has won the hearts of Europeans, thanks to its countless special series, including the “10th Anniversary”, the “Golden Eagle” and the “Backcountry”, just to mention some of the most popular.
