Just 9 Months : Why Maserati GranTurismo Is The Most Quickly Developed Car In Auto Industry

Just 9 Months : Here is the reason why Maserati GranTurismo is the most quickly developed car in Auto Industry.
The Maserati GranTurismo was available as a 2-door 2+2 Coupé and 2-door 2+2 Convertible.
It was initially powered by the F136, a 4.7-liter V8 engine that was jointly built by Ferrari and Maserati.
A total of 28,805 GranTurismos and 11,715 units of the convertible were produced from 2007 to 2019.
The Maserati GranTurismo, unveiled to the world at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show, set a record for the most quickly developed car in the auto industry, going from design to production stage in just nine months.
The reason being that Italian sports car brand, Ferrari, after selling off Maserati brand to the Fiat Chrysler Group (now Stellantis), took the designs of the proposed replacement of the Maserati Coupé and after some modifications, launched it as the Ferrari California in 2008, leaving Maserati with no Coupe.
After a nine-month development period – from design to production stage – to replace the Coupe Ferrari had been developing for Maserati before the split, the new Maserati GranTurismo was launched for the 2007 model year.
