Land Rover Launches Flagship Discovery Metropolitan Edition For 2023

Land Rover has just unveiled a new trim level for its Discovery SUV in the guise of the Metropolitan Edition which will go on sale in 2022 as a 2023 model.
The Metropolitan Edition sits at the top of the Discovery line-up and is based around the R-Dynamic HSE model. Land Rover has equipped it with Bright Atlas detailing across the front grille and the Discovery lettering. Silver is also used for the lower sections of the front and rear fascias, making them resemble metal skid plates. A set of 22-inch wheels with gloss grey detailing and brake callipers finished in black complete the exterior tweaks.
On the inside, it flaunts titanium mesh detailing on the steering wheel and dashboard coupled with an array of features such as a head-up display (HUD), power-adjustable third-row seating with heating, a heated steering wheel, four-zone climate control, and a front cooler compartment.
Under the hood is the Discovery’s range-topping 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-6 and mild-hybrid powertrain that outputs 355 hp. The mild-hybrid component is an integrated starter motor and generator that can aid the engine during high loads and recover energy under braking and coasting.
Aimed at customers looking for more from their Discoveries, Land Rover says the 2023 Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan Edition is the pinnacle of the Discovery family. In a statement, Land Rover brand director Finbar McFall said “The introduction of the Metropolitan Edition brings a new level of premium appeal to the Land Rover Discovery.”
