According to a statement titled, ‘LERSA Donates Patrol Van to Police,’ the gesture is to show support to the police and strengthen its capability towards curbing crimes and other social vices in the area.

“However, the police have suffered a lot of damage, therefore, cannot quickly re-enforce officers to such areas of unrest because our vehicles and tools of operations have been destroyed,” Adejobi said in the aftermath of the protests.

The #EndSARS protest was an almost nationwide agitation against police brutality, especially the excesses and extrajudicial killings by the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
