Liz Truss Becomes UK Prime Minister, See Her Car Collection (Photos)

Liz Truss, born Mary Elizabeth Truss, becomes new UK Prime Minister, succeeding ongoing Boris Johnson. 

Truss will be the country’s third woman premier and the 15th UK PM during the reign of head of state Queen Elizabeth II.

Truss car collection includes Cadillac Escalade, Land Rover Defender, BMW 7 Series, Jaguar XF and a Range Rover SUV.

Britain’s Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, was elected as the leader of the Conservative Party and the new Prime Minister of the U.K. on Monday, following her victory over rival, Rishi Sunak. Truss garnered 81,326 votes among the Tory membership versus Sunak’s 60,399.

The 47-year-old, who succeeds Boris Johnson, will be the country’s third woman premier after Theresa May and Margaret Thatcher, and the 15th UK prime minister during the reign of head of state Queen Elizabeth II.

After the results were announced, Truss, born Mary Elizabeth Truss, said :

“We need to show that we will deliver over the next two years. I will deliver a bold plan to cut taxes and grow our economy.”

She further said :

“I will deliver on the energy crisis, dealing with people’s energy bills, but also dealing with the long-term issues we have on energy supply.”

When the former PM, Boris Johnson took over in 2019, Truss was appointed international trade secretary and last year, she was elevated to the position of Foreign Secretary.

According to the report, Truss got one of the lowest membership vote after securing 57 per cent of member votes, compared to Boris Johnson’s 66.4 per cent in 2019, David Cameron goy 67.6 per cent in 2005 and Iain Duncan Smith 60.7 per cent in 2001.

As the new British Prime Minister, Truss will reportedly get A German-made bulletproof Audi A8 instead of British-made Jaguar XJ, after Jaguar paused production of its XJ model following a drop in demand due to the Covid pandemic.

Truss’ car collection includes a Cadillac Escalade, Land Rover Defender, BMW 7 Series, Jaguar XF and a Range Rover SUV.

According to reports, Liz Truss has a net worth of $10 million and a remuneration that is close to $450,000 a year.
