Lots Of Volvo Owner To Get Free Apple Music Integrated To Their Vehicles Via OTA
Volvo is integrating Apple Music directly into its dashboards via an over-the-air update for over two million vehicles. Models from 2020 and newer—including the EX90, XC90, and XC60—will gain native access to the streaming service, eliminating the need for phone tethering and offering eligible owners up to three months of free service.
Upon the release of the update, users may simply log in with their Apple account to gain immediate access to over 100 million songs, playlists, albums, and live radio stations—eliminating the need for mobile device tethering. The service can be managed via the vehicle’s touchscreen or through intuitive voice commands, ensuring that drivers can maintain focus on the road.
Volvo is also offering an incentive for new or returning Apple Music subscribers, who may claim up to three months of service at no additional cost via the Volvo Cars app until July 6, 2027.
Furthermore, owners of the EX60, EX90, and ES90 models equipped with the 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system will gain access to Apple Music Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos. This feature provides an immersive acoustic experience, simulating a live performance environment by distributing sound dynamically throughout the vehicle cabin.
This development coincides with the upcoming release of the Volvo EX60 electric SUV, which is scheduled to reach customers this summer. The EX60 represents a significant milestone for the brand, as it is the first model to utilize the new SPA3 800-volt platform. In the United States, pricing for the single-motor P6 RWD Plus trim begins at $58,400, while the dual-motor P10 AWD model starts at $60,750. The P10 configuration offers 503 horsepower and an estimated range of up to 322 miles, supported by an upgraded battery pack.
Choosing the Ultra trim provides an option to include the Bowers & Wilkins sound system, which unlocks Apple Music Spatial Audio, offering yet another compelling reason to consider Volvo’s latest electric SUV.
With the integration of Apple Music across most recent Volvo models and the imminent launch of the EX60, Volvo’s in-vehicle experience is increasingly defined by the seamless convergence of premium audio and advanced automotive technology.
