M-Hero Launches All-new M817 Max+ Plug-in Hybrid With Bigger Battery-pack, Level 3 Driving On The Highways
Dongfeng’s M-Hero launches the all-new M817 Max+ with bigger battery-pack, level 3 Driving on the highways.
M817 Max+ is a high-end and plug-in hybrid variant of the M817, which launched on August 17th with Pro and Max versions.
Off-road SUV joins the 917 (2023–present) and the M-Hunter (2024–present) in the brand’s expanding lineup.


M-Hero, the Chinese state-owned subsidiary of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, has officially launched the all-new M817 Max+, with the off-road SUV joining the 917 (2023–present) and the M-Hunter (2024–present) in the brand’s expanding lineup.
Priced from 369,900 yuan ($51,200), the M817 Max+ is a high-end and plug-in hybrid variant of the M817, which initially launched on August 17th 2025 with Pro and Max versions priced at 319,900 yuan ($44,500) and 349,900 yuan ($48,600) respectively.



Inside, the M817 Max+ uses Huawei’s HarmonyOS Space 5 cockpit operating system that controls the infotainment and instrument clusters. The vehicle is equipped with a 10.23-inch driver’s display and a 15.6-inch central touchscreen.

M817 Max+’s plug-in hybrid system combines a 1.5 liter turbocharged inline 4 engine with electric motors, which delivers a combined power output of 677-hp and a torque of 848N·m and allows a 0-100km/h (60 mph) in 4.2 seconds.
While the Pro and Max versions of the M817 gets 40.6 kWh battery, the new M817 Max+ features a 50.4 kWh CATL Freevoy sodium-ion and lithium-ion battery, which allows a pure electric range of 215 km (134 miles) and a combined range of 1,365 kilometers (848 miles).


The M817 Max+ comes standard with Huawei’s Qiankun intelligent driving system ADS 4 (Advanced Driver Assistance System 4), which supports Level 3 driving on the highways
Huawei’s Qiankun intelligent driving system ADS 4 is powered by 27 sensors in total, including 11 HD cameras, three 4D millimetre-wave radars, one 192-line LiDAR, and 12 ultrasonic radars.
