Enugu State is in the South Eastern geo-political Zone of Nigeria. It was created in 1991 from part of the old Anambra State and it has Enugu as its capital. Other principal cities in Enugu include Nsukka, Awgu and Agbani.

The name Enugu is derived from the two Igbo words Énú Ụ́gwụ́ meaning “hill top” denoting the city’s hilly geography. The city was named after Enugwu Ngwo, under which coal was found. Coal is the major mineral found in Enugu state and that is why Enugu is referred to as the Coal City State.

There are 17 local government areas in Enugu state.

New Heaven bus stop is another popular bus stop in Enugu surrounded by the area owned by the “rich” which includes independence layout and G.R.A. The bus stop also leads to Enugu – Abakaliki Road, Esbs, Government house etc.

 

3. Abakpa Bus Stop:

Abakpa bus stop is known for its business and major traffic congestion at any point of the day. You wouldn’t want to pass this bus stop while trying to meet an important appointment in the morning because you might as well miss the appointment because of traffic congestion. The bus stop leads to places like the popular Nike Lake Resort, Abakpa Nike is and Ibagwa Nike.





4. Ogui Bus Stop:

This bus stop is a central bus stop. Ogui bus stop is the connecting bus stop to all the other bus stops and everywhere in the capital city of Enugu. Ogui bus stop directly leads to the popular polo park shopping mall and College of Education technical Enugu. This bus stop also leads to the Ogbete main market Enugu.
