To save tax, someone converted his luxury Mercedes E-Class into pickup truck. The pickup started life as a 300 D sedan of the W124 series from the 90’s.

For this reason, over the decades, the Danes have been creative in converting their luxury cars into commercial vehicles.
This W 124 pickup truck is one of several conversions, and it is currently operating in Denmark.
The pickup started life as a 300 D sedan of the W124 series that rolled off the Mercedes’ assembly line back in 1990.
The transformation helps the owner, 63 year old Martin Overgaard, to benefit from massive discounts applied in the Northern European state for commercial vehicles.

This conversion was carried out at Sæby Karosseriværksted near Frederikshavn (North Denmark region).
The former 4-door luxury Mercedes E-Class sedan is one of just 125 conversions from the company.
Inside, the cockpit remained unchanged, but behind the driver, where the rear seats once sat, now features a extended large rear window.
The specialists also fitted a pickup truck bed cover with a complex mechanism for easy operation.
The pickup conversion does not differ from other original W 124 in terms of driving dynamics. Inside the bonnet sits the six-cylinder 300 D with 109 HP.
Although taxes were saved through these kind of conversions, sources reveal fortunes were spent to turn the once luxury cars into commercial vehicles.
