Mother of Olympic gold medalist Tamyra Mensah-Stock gifted a $250,000 food truck from owner of Cruising Kitchens.

Mensah-Stock became an overnight sensation after winning Olympic gold medal in women’s wrestling.

She defeated Nigeria’s Blessing Oborududu 4-1 in the final to became the first Black woman to win a gold medal.

The 28-year old wrestler had pledged to use part of her $250k Olympic winnings to buy a $30k food truck for her mum.





So instead of a $30k truck, Cruising Kitchens is gifting Wells a $250,000 food truck with “all the bells and whistles”.

Cameron Davies, owner of the world’s largest manufacturer of fancy food trucks, Cruising Kitchens, has gifted mother of US Olympic gold medalist, Tamyra Mariama Mensah-Stock, a $250,000 Food Truck for her business.

The gifted came after Cameron Davies heard of Mensah-Stock’s plans to buy a $30,000 truck for her mother, Shonda Wells, who has been barbecuing dinners in a barrel pit with wheels for years.

Mensah-Stock became an overnight sensation after defeating Nigeria’s Blessing Oborududu 4-1 in the final to become the first black woman to win Olympic gold medal in women’s freestyle wrestling at the Tokyo Olympics on August 3, 2021.

Not the exact truck

In her celebration, 28-year old American wrestler Mensah-Stock pledged to use part of her $250,000 Olympic winnings to buy a $30,000 food truck for her mum.

So instead of donating a food truck with a similar price tag, Cruising Kitchens is gifting Wells a $250,000 food truck with “all the bells and whistles”.

“It’s time for you to take care of her, because she’s been taking care of you,” Davies said to Mensah-Stock.

Her mother will take delivery of the truck in fours months time as the process of designing and building the truck reportedly takes more than three months.
