Introduced in 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse is the roadster version of the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. The “Vitesse” is the french word for speed.

A year later, the Super Sport-inspired Grand Sport Vitesse reached an averaged top-speed of 408.84 km/h (254 mph) to become the fastest production roadster in the world at the time – a title now held by Bugatti W16 Mistral.

The road-going open-top the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse is part of Bugatti’s record-breaking hypercars, which includes the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, W16 Mistral, and the Chiron Super Sport 300+.

Like the base Veyron, the mid-engined Grand Sport Vitesse utilize a quad-turbocharged, W16 engine that delivers an insane 1,200 hp to all four wheels and a top speed of 254mph.

The open-top hypercar cost about $1.7 million at the time. Presently, you can’t buy a brand new Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse as it is completely sold out and a pre-owned example will cost over $2 million.
