Ram May Be The New Face Of Stellantis In The US Replacing Jeep
Although Stellantis has fourteen car brands, the most important ones in the US are Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. Jeep continues to lead Stellantis’ sales in the United States, despite Fiat being its best-selling brand worldwide. But according to Automotive News, Ram might win the title by the end of the decade, so that might change.
It’s easy to understand why. Ram has concentrated mostly on pickup trucks, one of the most profitable markets in the United States, since Dodge and Ram broke apart in 2009. The ongoing popularity of models like the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado, two of the nation’s best-selling cars, is evidence of this. However, Ram plans to add some new models to its inventory, so it won’t rely just on the 1500 to compete with those full-size competitors.
Filling The Gaps In The Garage
With the Dakota, a midsize pickup that is anticipated to cost about $40,000, Ram will compete with vehicles like the Ford Ranger and Toyota Tacoma. With the Rampage, the carmaker will go even smaller, but this model uses a unibody platform instead of the ladder-frame chassis used by its larger siblings. As a result, the Rampage becomes more akin to the Ford Maverick as a lifestyle vehicle. The Santa Cruz and the Hyundai are competitors in that market; however, there are rumours that the Korean brand may leave that market.
Sales of the 1500 are not anticipated to be impacted by the additional additions because these vehicles compete in separate markets. Ram is aiming for 825,000 North American sales by 2030, which would be a 60% increase over the previous year and put the brand around 85,000 vehicles ahead of Jeep, according to the study. According to reports, Stellantis’ goal involves focusing a lot of attention and funding on both Ram and Jeep.
Ram May Be Expanding Just In Time
Ram is apparently expanding into the SUV market in addition to its truck range, with a full-size model anticipated to employ the same fundamental architecture as the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Ram may or may not represent Stellantis in the United States, but the company’s growth is more important than ever. More automakers are expressing interest in the truck market, such as Mitsubishi, which is working with Nissan to build a pickup for North America.
