Russia begins production of high-end Aurus Senat S600 luxury sedan promoted by President Vladimir Putin.

The entry-level version of the Senat is priced at 18 million rubles (around $245,000 or ₦100.6 million.

But it will have a landing cost of nearly ₦160.9 million if local taxes and destination charges in Nigeria are added.

Aurus is targeting customers in Africa and the Middle East, as well as European and Chinese buyers.





Russia on Monday officially began the production of Rolls-Royce-rivaling luxury sedan, the Aurus Senat S600, at a factory in Yelabuga. The country has invested over $189m (₦68 billion) in the Aurus limousine project since 2013.

Aurus is producing two different variants of the Senat. The Senat S600, currently being produced, is the model offered to regular customers.

The bigger Aurus Senat L700 limousine model is created for use only by state officials. The two luxury models will be joined by an SUV and a Convertible model in the nearest future.





The Senat made its European debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. According to Russia’s Industry Minister Denis Manturov, around 200 to 300 examples of the Aurus Senat will be produced this year.

The limousine model, promoted by President Vladimir Putin, was first shown to the world during the inauguration of the Russian leader in 2018.
