Stellantis is set to introduce its first vehicle built on the STLA Small platform in 2026, focusing specifically on the needs of the European market. This announcement was confirmed by CEO Carlos Tavares, who emphasized that the company is making significant progress in its development plans. The STLA Small platform is designed to accommodate a variety of vehicle types, allowing Stellantis to enhance its product offerings and remain competitive in the rapidly evolving automotive

Tavares told reporters that the platform will be presented between the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026. It will be key to supporting the group’s next generation of small cars, ranging from the A-segment to the C-segment, with power drawn from hybrid or electric systems.

They will offer batteries with capacities between 37 kWh and 82 kWh for electric vehicles. The range of engines and power outputs, starting at around 94bhp, will also be available.

Figures released by Stellantis suggest the platform can be used for cars 3600mm long by 1700mm wide. It will replace the CMP/e-CMP platform used today by cars such as the Peugeot 208, Peugeot 2008, Vauxhall/Opel Corsa, Vauxhall/Opel Mokka and others.

It has not yet been confirmed which model will be the first on that new platform.

The STLA Small sits above the Smart Car platform (which underpins the new Citroen C3) and below the STLA Medium (Peugeot 3008), STLA Large (Jeep Wagoneer S) and STLA Frame, which is primarily intended for the American market.
