A few months ago, the ostentatious former Boxing Champion, Floyd Mayweather, attracted massive public attention when he posted a video of his expensive collection of all-black luxury cars on Instagram. Watch the Instagram video HERE.
In Nigeria, another celebrity is also known for his attraction for all-black collection of expensive cars. That celebrity is Tekno.
Augustine Miles Kelechi, better known as Tekno Miles or Tekno, has gained remarkable success since his emergence in the music scene in 2013.
The Triple MG singer and producer is known to be a lover of luxury cars. And of course, he has done well enough to be able to afford some nice whips.
And just like Floyd Mayweather, Tekno has a garage filled with all-black cars.
In this article, we profile the choice cars in the all-black assemblage of star musician, Tekno.
Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
Tekno owns a black Unlimited Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The talented singer bought the vehicle in 2017.
The Rubicon is considered as the toughest looking Wrangler. It is a car that one should pick if one plans to do some serious off-roading. Tekno posted on Instagram that he prefers using it during the rainy season in order to manoeuvre the roads in Lagos.
The Rubicon, just like all Wranglers, is powered by Chrysler’s 3.6-litre V-6, backed by a 6-speed manual or an optional Mercedes-Benz hand-me-down 5-speed automatic transmission. The V-6 and automatic make a smooth, willing combination capable of dashing to 60 mph in as little as 7.7 seconds. There’s surprisingly strong passing pep, and revs are kept low.
Two body styles of the Rubicon are available: the two-door Wrangler and four-door Wrangler Unlimited. Tekno owns the 4-door Rubicon.
The singer is believed to have spent N20million to purchase the rugged SUV.
Mercedes Benz CLS 550 V8
The Pana crooner also owns a 2012 Mercedes Benz CLS 550 V8. The car was originally white in colour. However, it was later repainted to black.
The CLS 550 places equal emphasis on its bevvy of safety features. The four-door coupe has nine standard airbags and no fewer than 12 assistance systems.
It uses a 4.7-litre, direct-injection twin-turbo V-8 in place of a naturally aspirated 5.5-litre engine. It also features a 7-speed transmission system, a power output of 402 hp and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph under 4.7 sec.
Tekno, it was reported, acquired the Mercedes Benz CLS 550 for about ₦30 million.
Range Rover HSE
Tekno’s garage also features a 2017 Range Rover HSE. The 2017 Range Rover is a good luxury large SUV. It pampers occupants with plenty of seating space. It is fitted with a ton of modern features and an elegant atmosphere.
Tekno’s Range Rover features a 5.0L V8 engine rated for 500 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, but buyers can choose between standard or long wheelbases and several trim levels.
It has a sleek black colour exterior and top luxury leather interior. The car, reportedly, cost him about N32million.
Bentley Continental GT Supersport
Also in the car collection of the artiste, Tekno, is a Bentley Continental Supersport. The muscular two-seater Supersport delivers supercar performance and highly focused driving experience.
The Supersports is also the first Bentley capable of running on both petrol (gasoline) and biofuel. Thus, pioneering the use of FlexFuel technology in the luxury sector. This represents stage one of the company’s commitment to making its complete model range compatible with renewable fuels by 2012.
The car features a 621-bhp, a ‘Quickshift’ transmission that improves shift times. The Supersports also sets new performance benchmarks for Bentley. It accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds) onto a top speed of 204 mph (329 km/h).
Tekno’s Bentley was originally grey coloured. It was later repainted to a mix of black and red, but it currently has an all-black painting.
It was reported that the car cost Tekno a whooping N75 million.
