These Are 10 Cars In Nigeria That Can Do More Than 200,000 Miles

Buying a car in Nigeria can be a serious chore if you don’t know the right brand and model that will go the extra mile with little or no issues. Below is a list of 10 cars in Nigeria that can exceed the 200000 miles bracket either used (tokunbo) or brand new.

1. Toyota Camry

We are starting in no particular order with a popular brand and model in  Nigeria called the Toyota Camry. We see them everywhere and Nigerians love them a lot, especially the 2007 and above models. Even the older 2003 models that have passed the 200,000-mile mark can be seen everywhere. With Toyota’s reliability, the latest model will follow that path and last extremely long. The Camry is the best-selling midsized sedan with over 700 models sold daily globally.

2. Honda Civic

Next is the Honda Civic. This model has been very underrated but it is very capable of surpassing the 200,000 miles mark with ease. The Civic has always been seen in the Corolla’s shadow but in terms of overall ride and features it is better than the Corolla and it is being accepted in the Nigerian market once again. Since the Civic is not as popular as the Corolla, we still see owners who own them have little worries.

3. Toyota RAV4

The list will not be complete without the RAV4. Since its inception in the early 90s, the RAV4 has been known to easily pass the 200,000-mile mark and more, in addition, it is built to last and it is a very capable offroad SUV. The greatest fans of the RAV4 are ladies as they love the ground clearance, ride height and lots and lots of trunk space. Many may wonder how a Mercedes is capable of passing the 200,000-mile mark well, some models can but the early models of the GLK will easily surpass that with minimal fuss. What not to love about their SUV? A smooth 3.5 v6 RWD with optional 4matic. High ground clearance and it’s as tough as nails that it is referred sometimes as a baby G-Wagon. Other Mercedes models can pass that 200,000-mile mark but this is the pick.

The Corolla needs no introduction at all. It is among the most popular cars in the world. It has been known to be very reliable and fuel-efficient. You can see Corollas as old as 1999 and in some cases older. You can never be wrong with the Corolla and passing the 200,000-mile mark is just the tip of the iceberg as models are shown to reach as far as 700,000 miles with minimal maintenance. Any model of the year of the Corolla will serve for a long long time with the 2003 model year being the strongest of them all.

The Lexus ES is an UPGRADED Toyota Camry. The engine and some internal components of this particular model are interchangeable with the 2005 Toyota Camry, so expect Toyota’s reliability and a decent price for parts.  This is for people who want something different from the Camry while still giving the reliability Toyota is known for. Surpassing the 200,000-mile mark is no big deal for this model.

7. Honda Accord

It would be unfair if Honda’s best model in Nigeria isn’t mentioned. There isn’t a doubt that the Accord will not only pass the 200,00 mile mark but will do so will little maintenance. Any generation of the Accord will do this except for the early 2004 models to 2007 which needs special attention given its history of ball joint issues. Aside from that the Accord will serve very well in all forms.

8. Toyota 4Runner

The 4Runner is a beast of an SUV. It was born to last long and it has a proven track record from previous and current owners. You can see the original owners of the 2001 models still cruising it and the 2005 models still looking good. Its 4WD prowess is still second to none among rivals. The 4Runner is a legend and will always be. 200,000 miles is a child’s play for this utility vehicle and many barely give it up due to its longevity.

9. Honda CR-V

No doubt that the Honda CR-V will make the list. This SUV has been the backbone of Honda’s tremendous growth in sales for many years. Nigerians love the vehicle and they don’t want to give it up anytime soon. Can it run for more than 200,000 miles? Yes, we’ve seen people use it for that long. No doubt it is Honda’s most reliable SUV.

10. Lexus GX

The last model here on our list is the Lexus GX which like its Toyota cousin the Prado can run more than 200,000 miles. Why pick this over the Prado? It Is because the GX is a more solid (allrounder) and luxurious SUV than the Prado. The Lexus GX is now becoming a fan favourite amongst others in its class.
