These Are The Most Reliable Car Brands That their Models Can Exceed 400,000 Km Without Problems
When buying a car, several standard factors always come into consideration, and one of the ones we pay the most attention to is reliability, according to the iSeeCars report.
It is interesting that today, with some brands, engines can go up to 400,000 kilometres without problems with regular maintenance, and according to the same survey, many drivers believe that the life of a car ends at 160,900 kilometres (100,000 miles) when larger investments begin.
The latest study by iSeeCars, writes Forbes, on this aspect confirms that some brands and models reach 200,000 miles (321,000 kilometres) and that they “have just worked out”.
The report covers the 30 most durable models in the US, all of which provide a high probability of reaching 250,000 miles (400,000 kilometres). It should be kept in mind that the probability of the average vehicle reaching this figure is 8.6 percent.
They analyzed as many as 402 million vehicles and calculated the average reading of each odometer taking into account age and developed a model based on those kilometres to estimate the probability of reaching different mileage levels.
Admittedly, the study was conducted in the United States, which is why some brands and models are not present in Europe, however, on the list of manufacturers there are some well-known on the Old Continent. The leader is Toyota, whose vehicles have a 17 percent chance of exceeding 400,000 kilometres, followed by Honda (13.6 percent) and RAM (11.5 percent).
It is followed by GMC (11.4 percent), Chevrolet (10.5 percent), Lexus (9.7 percent) and Ford (9.5 percent). The report particularly highlights the two Japanese brands Toyota and Honda, because they appear in all categories – passenger cars, SUV models and pick-ups.
So it’s not surprising that the most durable model is the Toyota Tundra with a 36.6 percent chance of exceeding 400,000 kilometers. The next four positions are also held by models from the Japanese manufacturer.
A Toyota Sequoia is four times more likely to achieve that mileage compared to the average. The Toyota Tacoma, 4Runner, Highlander Hybrid and Honda Ridgeline have three times as many.
Another of the most relevant conclusions of the study is the dominance of SUVs: they occupy 16 of the first 30 positions. Four of them are Toyota, but Chevrolet, GMC, Honda and Nissan have at least two models on the list. Pick-ups are also high on the list with eight vehicles. And, of course, there is room for limousines (four) and compact cars (two).
