Just 832 Phantom Vs were produced, making the large, ultra-exclusive four-door Rolls-Royce limousine a rare car.
Picture shared shows Oba Adesoji Tadenikawo Aderemi arriving for a graduation ceremony at University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, OUA) in his Rolls-Royce Phantom V in 1976.
The first class king was the Ooni of Ife for 50 years, between 1930 and July 3, 1980, before his passage at the age of 90 years.
During his reign, Ooni Aderemi, a successful businessman, helped in the establishment waterworks, electricity projects, and the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife).
As a tribute to the late Ooni, his rare Phantom V – his preferred method of transport – was put on display during OAU’s convocation events held from 11th to Saturday, 14th December 2019.
His ultra-rare limited-edition Rolls-Royce Phantom V, built between 1959 and 1968, was also the preferred method of transport for Queen Elizabeth II and famous English musician, John Lennon, during its time.
