Toyota Again Upgrades Its Best Selling Model The Camry For 2022
Toyota has announced a mid-cycle upgrade for the Camry with lots of goodies as it still retains its best selling status even outselling all the Lexus lineup put together.
For 2022, the Camry will get a Nightshade edition for the hybrid model as well as new exterior paints. In Toyota’s nomenclature, Nightshade refers to trims that feature black wheels, accents, and badging. For the Camry SE Hybrid Nightshade, that means 18-inch black wheels, a black shark-fin antenna, and black window trim, badging door handles, and mirror caps. The Nightshade trim was previously available for non-hybrid Camrys.
The Ice Edge colour, which was previously a TRD-exclusive option, is available across the range, replacing Galactic Aqua. The new TRD-only colour is Calvary Blue with a Midnight Black metallic roof. The trim also comes with the combination of a 3.5-litre V6 with a direct-shift eight-speed automatic transmission and a specially-tuned cat-back dual exhaust system.
For the safety-minded crowd, they will be pleased to know that the Camry will get an upgraded active safety package. Dubbed Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, it adds Automatic High Beams and Road Sign Assist (RSA) that works with the vehicle’s adaptive cruise control system. When engaged, the vehicle will adjust accordingly to the posted speed limit.
Inside the 2022 Camry comes with either a 7- or 9-inch touchscreen display, and with an available 7-inch driver cluster. Top XLE and XSE models additionally get a 10-inch colour head-up display. The seats have a new design and inlays can be had in dark wood or patterned metal. The dual-zone climate control is now standard on the gasoline, four-cylinder models for the first time.
