Watch Mercedes CEO Ola Kallenius Do “G-Turn”, Drift The Electric G-Class On Frozen Lake - autojosh

Watch Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Kallenius do “G-Turn”, drift the electric G-Class (EQG) on a frozen lake in snowy Sweden.

The 360-degree “G-Turn” feature allows the electric G to spin itself around in one spot, thanks to its four electric motors.

Källenius demonstrated the electric G’s stability on the slippery snowy tracks during the manoeuvres at the Mercedes testing ground.

He also demonstrated the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) on-ice acceleration, though noted that the time was slower due to the icy surface.

Mercedes-Benz has shared a cool video showing off the off-roading prowess of the upcoming battery-powered EQG (electric G-Class) at the Mercedes-Benz testing ground close to the Arctic Circle in the snowy Sweden.

Featuring Swedish-born host Marie Serneholt and Mercedes CEO Ola Källenius, the latter who was behind the wheels to demonstrate the electric G’s stability on the slippery snowy tracks during enthusiastic manoeuvres.

In the video posted to YouTube, Kallenius also demonstrated what he considered the best feature on the electric G : the 360-degree “G-Turn”, which allows the SUV to spin itself around in one spot, thanks to its four electric motors.

“There is so, so much to love about this car,” Kallenius said, when Marie Serneholt asked about his favorite feature on the electric G-Class. “But on this electric G, I have to say it, it’s the G-Turn.”

Kallenius also demonstrated the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) on-ice acceleration, though noted that the time was slower due to the icy surface. But the battery-powered EQG is expected to be quicker from rest than its ICE-powered G63 siblings on the tarmac.

Mercedes-Benz had earlier shared a video showing off prototype of its upcoming “go-anywhere” all-electric EQG (Electric G-Class) SUV driving through deep mud waters ahead of planned unveiling this year.
