Trending videos shared online showing the head of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kano State Command, Mr Abubakar Idris-Ahmad, alighting from a customized armored bus has generated different opinions among netizens.
In comments read by Autojosh, most of the users thinks that the armored vehicle is a wasteful spending for a public office holder in a struggling country like Nigeria, though Autojosh thinks otherwise.

Due to the level of danger from drug cartels and other criminal organizations, the use of armored vehicles is one of the strong security measures implemented by NDLEA to protect its agents.

It will be recalled that in September 2022, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved N580.5 million for the procurement of 4 customised armoured vehicles of 14 seater model for NDLEA to help to fight dangerous and illicit drugs.
Then, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, said the decision was taken to safeguard the lives of NDLEA personnel who have been working very hard with impressive results being recorded.
