A special customer spent $11 million to customize his Bugatti W16 Mistral, an hypercar that starts at $5 million

This one-off W16 Mistral was used for setting record-breaking speed of 282-mph – making it the fastest open-top car in the world.

W16 World Record Car now part of The Singh Collection – a collection that boasts three other Bugatti World Record Cars.

Others World Record Editions in the collection are Chiron Super Sport 300+, 16.4 Super Sport and Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse.

Back in November 2024, Bugatti – for the first time in its history – offered a special client an incredible opportunity to witness his W16 Mistral’s record-breaking speed of 453.91 km/h (282-mph) – setting a record for the fastest open-top car in the world.

Following the record-breaking run, Bugatti took the W16 Mistral for a photoshoot alongside three other collection of Bugatti’s World Record Cars – all of which belongs to this unnamed special client as part of “The Singh Collection” in Punjab, India.

Like the World Record Editions of the 16.4 Super Sport, VEYRON 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse and Chiron Super Sport 300+ in the “The Singh Collection”, the lower body and wheels of this record-breaking Mistral is finished in vibrant ‘Jet Orange’ – an unmistakable accents that continues in the interior.

While the base Mistral starts at around $5 million, Bugatti said that this unique W16 Mistral World Record Car cost €14 million ($16.3 million), thanks to the unlimited options available through its bespoke Sur-Mesure program.

“The W16 World Record Car now joins the illustrious company of The Singh Collection – to which we pay tribute for creating such an incredibly impressive, history-making group of vehicles,” said Christophe Piochon, President of Bugatti Automobiles.

For the record-breaking run, Bugatti modified the body-panel gaps of the W16 Mistral World Record Car for optimized airflow and removed the speed limiter for unleashing the full power of brand’s 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine.
