Bugatti Finally Delivers The $16 Million, 1-of-1 W16 Mistral ‘World Record Car’

At the Silverstone Grand Prix held over the weekend of July 2–5, the same Bugatti W16 Mistral “World Record Car” that set the open-top car world speed record in November 2024 was officially handed over to its owner, marking the start of a new life in The Singh Collection.
After running laps at the iconic British circuit, the record-breaking Mistral car was officially handed over to its owner to join an exclusive, custom-curated collection.

For the first time in its history, Bugatti offered its special client, Reuben Singh, the incredible opportunity to witness his W16 Mistral achieve a record-breaking speed of 453.91 km/h (282 mph). Driven by Bugatti Pilote Officiel Andy Wallace, the vehicle set a new record for the fastest open-top car in the world.

Following its record-breaking run, Bugatti took the W16 Mistral for a photoshoot alongside three other vehicles from Bugatti’s World Record Car collection. All of these cars belong to Reuben Singh as part of “The Singh Collection” in Punjab, India.
“It was a pleasure to be joined by @materimac @frank.heyl and the team at @bugatti for the handover of the Mistral World Record Car at Silverstone F1,” said Reuben Singh, a British-Indian billionaire entrepreneur, who owned The Singh Collection.

While the base Mistral starts at around $5 million, Bugatti said that this unique W16 Mistral “World Record Car” cost €14 million ($16.3 million), thanks to the unlimited options available through its bespoke Sur-Mesure program.
For the record-breaking run, Bugatti modified the body panel gaps of the one-off W16 Mistral “World Record Car” to optimize airflow and removed the speed limiter to unleash the full power of the brand’s now-discontinued 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine.
