Second Batch Of Trains For Lagos-Ibadan & Abuja-Kaduna Railway Leaves China For Nigeria (Photos)

Second batch of diesel trains procured for the Lagos-Ibadan and Abuja-Kaduna railway axis leaves China for Nigeria.

The second batch of trains procured for the Nigeria for Abuja-Kaduna Railway and Lagos-Ibadan Railway axis are currently on their way to Nigeria.

This was made known by the construction company handling the project, CRRC Qishuyan Co Ltd, on its twitter page.

Pictures of the brand new coaches being shipped from Changzhou Port to Shanghai, were also shared on its official handle.

“The second batch (11 units) of diesel locomotives made by #CRRC Qishuyuan for export to #Nigeria for Abuja-Kaduna Railway and Lagos-Ibadan Railway were shipped from Changzhou Port to Shanghai, starting their journey to Nigeria. #cooperation”

The first batch of trains for the Lagos-Ibadan railway axis and the Abuja-Kaduna railway were delivered in 2019.

The supply contracts includes train models like the DF8B(N) diesel locomotives, DF11G(N) twin-unit semi-high-speed diesel locomotive, NDJ3(N) DMUs, and DF7G(N) diesel locomotives.

Sum of these newly acquired diesel trains are currently being tested on the 156-kilometre new Lagos-Ibadan railway axis.

Inside, the seats are arranged in two rows, each with unattached table and power outlets to charge phones or to power electric devices. Passengers can also recline without making any form of adjustment to their seats.

Each coach is also furnished with security cameras to monitor the activities of people within and outside the train.
