Lamborghini Recalls Urus SUV Because It Could Catch On Fire
Lamborghini recalls bestselling model Urus to replace fuel line and quick connector which may lead to fuel leak and fire.
A total of 2,831 2019-2020 model Lamborghini Urus are recalled.
The Lamborghini Urus worth ₦140m sits in the garages of Davido, Patoranking and Kanye West.
Lamborghini is recalling its bestselling model Urus SUV to replace its fuel line and quick connector which may lead to fuel leak and possibly fire.
A statement released by the automaker says :
“In rare instances high engine compartment temperatures subject the quick connectors to temperatures above the design operating specification limit.
These elevated temperatures can lead to the quick connect material softening which could potentially result in a fuel leak.”
In all, a total of 2,831 Uruses built between Aug. 30, 2018 and July 28, 2020 (spanning model years 2019-2020) are been recalled.
Audi-owned Italian supercar Lamborghini will notify owners of the affected model on or before December 18.
Dealers will replace the fuel line and quick connector free of charge, a fix with that requires a labor time of only one hour.
Back in July, Lamborghini celebrated the production of its 10,000th Urus SUV since production started 2 years-ago.
The high-riding SUV, which sits in the garages of celebrities and supercar lovers, is currently Lamborghini’s best-selling model.
The Lamborghini Urus, with a base price of ₦140m in Nigeria, sits in the garages of Davido, Patoranking and Kanye West.
The Lamborghini Urus is currently the second fastest Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) on the planet, behind the Bentley Bentayga Speed.
Inside the bonnet is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that pumps out the power of 641 horses.
This impressive powertrain allows the Lamborghini Urus to hit 60mph in just 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 190mph (305 km/h)
